A magnet assembly is a "product" that becomes a customer-specific "magnetic system" as a result of the further processing of sintered or plastic-bonded permanent magnets. We enhance your magnets with other technical components and thereby make any additional assembly much easier for you.
The handling and machining of permanent magnets is crucial due to their brittleness and the at times enormous magnetic forces. As renowned magnet experts, we have different plants that are required for machining magnets. Or we develop and build needs-based, special plants in our special mechanical engineering department. As a result of our many years of experience in the area of magnet assemblies, you can rely on high-performance and efficient complete solutions.
In addition to injection moulding technology, which is used for turning permanent magnets into functional elements through overmoulding, there are other ways of completing a magnet assembly.
In addition to joining technologies, such as welding, clinching or pressing, gluing technology offers distinct advantages because the entire surface of a magnet can be bonded with other components. Joining technology is often used, for example, for rotors in motors or generators. In these cases, magnets are glued right onto the steel beams. But an adhesive-based bond to carrier components made from metal or other materials is also the best choice for many other magnets that are used in magnetic field sensor technology. With this technology, the implementation of secure bonds across wide temperature ranges is possible even in the case of large mechanical stresses.
Alternatively to gluing technologies, other processes are also used for magnet assemblies, such as pressing or press-fitting, heat shrinking, laser welding, ultrasonic welding or caulking. Depending on the application and the requirement, the most efficient process will be used.
